PG&E Announces Interim Organizational Structure While Conducting COO Research
SAN FRANCISCO – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – PG&E Corporation (NYSE: PCG) today announced an interim organizational structure as part of a nationwide search and review of internal candidates to succeed the president and chief operating officer of its utility, Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company President and Chief Operating Officer Nick Stavropoulos, 60, previously announced his retirement, which will take effect at the end of September.
“We will take the time necessary to identify the best leaders for the years to come as part of our overall succession process,” said Geisha Williams, CEO and President of parent company, PG&E Corporation. “We have a strong team and a flexible management team that work together effectively, so I am confident that we will continue to make substantial progress on our critical initiatives. ”
Under the interim structure, which takes effect on September 1, Pat Hogan, senior vice president of electrical operations, will remain focused on his current duties. Jesus Soto, senior vice president of gas operations, will add responsibility for physical and cyber security and the supply chain to his current responsibilities.
Steve Malnight, currently Senior Vice President, Strategy and Policy, will assume the new role of Senior Vice President, Energy Supply and Policy, of Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In this role, he will add responsibility for production, customer service, real estate and IT to his existing responsibilities.
Karen Austin, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, has announced her intention to retire effective November 1. Kathy Kay, currently Vice President of Business Technology, has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining PG&E in 2015, Kay was Director of Enterprise Technology at SunTrust Bank. She previously held management positions at Comerica Bank and General Motors. Kay holds a BS in Computer Science from Wayne State University and an MS in Engineering in Technology Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She will report to Laurie Giammona, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. Giammona will report to Malnight as part of the interim structure.

We wish her a happy retirement and congratulate Kathy on her well-deserved promotion, ”said Williams.
Responsibilities remain unchanged for the rest of the senior management team.
