LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Following the resignation of Lake County’s director of community development last week, the Board of Supervisors is expected to get an update Tuesday on the process of finding her successor.
The board will meet from at 9 am. Tuesday, July 19, in council chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

On Tuesday, the Board of Directors will consider an update on the HR department’s recruitment process for the position of Director of Community Development. The element is not timed.
Last week, Community Development Manager Mary Darby tendered her resignation to the board after less than a year, following another closed-door performance review, as reported by Lake County. News. His resignation is effective November 4.
A report to the board from county administrative officer Susan Parker said human resources staff will review with the board what steps will be taken for recruitment.
On Thursday, the human resources staff opened “ongoing and promotional recruitment” which will have an initial review of applications on August 9, Parker reported. Human Resources also plans to advertise with professional organizations, recruitment sites and social networks.
If, after the initial review of applications, no qualified candidate is produced, Parker said that human resources will request an offer from the various executive search firms.
She said human resources recently completed a request for qualifications for the services of a staffing firm for the public health officer, its own work, and for county attorney positions.
Of the 10 recruitment firms contacted for the request for qualification, Human Resources received only two qualified responses for the recruitment of departmental administrative officer and one for the recruitment of public health officer.
It should be noted that the board hired Parker even before hiring a recruiting firm.
In an untimed item, the board will consider a resolution clarifying eligibility requirements for early activation permits in Lake County.
In a consent agenda item, the board will consider approving the purchase of a custom Mercedes Sprinter 3500 vehicle to serve as Lake County’s new bookmobile, and authorize County Librarian Christopher Veach to issue and sign a purchase order not exceeding $250,000 at Farber Specialty Vehicles, Ohio. This new vehicle is subsidized.

5.5: Approve the agreement between Lake County and the Yuba-Yuba, Sutter-Colusa Tri-County Regional Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility for youth housing for the term July 19, 2022 through June 30, 2025, for an amount not to exceed $25,000 during the same fiscal year and authorize the president to sign.
5.6: Adopt a proclamation designating the week of July 17-23 as Probation Officers Week in Lake County.
