BROWNVILLE, TX – The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (GBIC) has appointed Mr. Jerry Briones as Director of International Business Development and Industrial Parks. Mr. Briones has over ten years of combined experience leading global outreach, sales, business recruitment, business development, retention, expansion and workforce.

The Director of International Business Development and Industrial Parks is a new position that will be responsible for the recruitment, expansion and workforce of GBIC’s international businesses in Mexico, Canada and abroad. This position is responsible for fostering strong collaborative relationships with Matamoros and other strategic manufacturing centers throughout Mexico.

Jerry Briones is a former United States Marine Corps Sergeant, communications specialist from the University of Texas at Brownsville, previously licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance, and has extensive training in various areas of economic development. Previously, he served as Director of Business Development and Partnerships for VTX1 Enterprise, Executive Director of Workforce Training and Continuing Education for Texas State Technical College, Director of Enterprise Recruitment for Pflugerville Community Development Corporation and Director of Global Outreach and Development for the Brownsville Economic Development Council. In addition, Mr. Briones has led and participated in several boards and advisory committees, including the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce.
