Free Organizational Development Webinars Advance Diversity of Thinking


UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – A series of free webinars designed to promote the Penn State College of Education’s Organizational Development and Change and Education and Workforce Development (WFED) programs continues to grow.

Seventeen monthly webinars were hosted by full-time and part-time faculty to create an imprint in the organizational development community as a whole, facilitate engagement with global stakeholders, and advance diversity of thought within of the organizational development community.

William rothwell, Professor of Education (WFED), said professors presented webinar topics generally aligned with their research or professional interests.

“These represent a very current reflection on the field of organizational development, the theory of action of hope and other topics in the field of organizational development,” he said.

Webinars are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on the last Friday of each month and rregistration is available here.

September 24 speaker online seminar is Jong Gyu Park, assistant professor of management at Penn State. His presentation is titled “Shared Leadership: A Bottom-Up Approach to Leadership and Change” and will explore the opportunities and challenges of identifying, nurturing and evaluating leadership and why organizational development practitioners develop skills. shared leadership.

Mark Threeton, associate professor of learning and performance systems at Penn State, will present the October 29 webinar. Its subject is “Experiential education to advance knowledge capital in organizations”. Participants can learn the key principles that promote the transfer of education to enhance the development of knowledge and skills.

The December 17 webinar is titled “Theory of Hope-Action for Organizations” and will be led by Hyung Joon Yoon, WFED Associate Professor at Penn State.

Hope-Action Theory has been used internationally in career development, enabling individuals to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. It is an open systems model with these components: hope, self-reflection, self-clarity, vision, goal setting and planning, implementation, adaptation and environmental management.

“That’s what we’re trying to encourage. Even professors can register and participate in these free webinars, which helps them keep their knowledge up to date, ”said Rothwell. “We promote and nurture a community and mutually fertilize the knowledge of faculty and external speakers in this field. “

In addition, a free virtual conference entitled “Leading organizational change through innovation “ is scheduled for November 19. Although more details will be released at a later date, the topics are Global and Societal Change, Technology and Research, Organizational Development and Change, and Talent Development.

Speakers include Annie Li Long Qiao of Change Mag Consulting Co. Ltd .; Justine Chinoperekweyi, CEO of the Center for Organizational Leadership and Development Zimbabwe; and Angela Rogers, Issa Jalal Al Balushi and Manar Mohammed Salamah, PhD students at WFED at Penn State.
