Factor Joins Potential Development as Director of Communications Business Journal Daily

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Potential Development announced this week the addition of Lori A. Factor to the newly created position of Director of Communications.

Factor brings 30 years of experience in communications, public relations and marketing to the organization. She most recently served as Director of Community Engagement and Events for Cliffe College at Youngstown State University and Director of the YSU Summer Festival of the Arts.

“Developing and implementing a multi-faceted communications plan across multiple platforms has been a goal for our organization,” said Paul Garchar, CEO of Potential Development. “With over 250 students, a growing staff and increased community awareness, this new position will be an important aspect of our operation. We are delighted to welcome Lori Factor to the Potential Development family.

Factor is a Youngstown native and graduated in 1985 from Youngstown State University with a BSBA in advertising and public relations. She has held positions at Farmers National Bank, the Youngstown Area Chamber of Commerce (now the Regional Chamber), and the YSU Alumni Association. While at YSU’s Cliffe College, Factor was responsible for overseeing media relations; visual and electronic communication; public relations and event planning. Under his leadership, the Summer Arts Festival grew in size and stature, creating positive community relationships and collaborations.

Active in the greater community, Factor serves on the board of the International Institute Foundation, is the new president of the Youngstown Press Club, and is a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. She graduated from Leadership Youngstown and was nominated for the Athena Award. Factor and her husband, Joe, reside in Canfield and have two adult children.
