Russell has played with artists as varied as Jerry Lee Lewis, Joe Cocker, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Elton John, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, The Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones and many more.
Singer-songwriter Leon Russell was another musician to tour in Hawaii and have his promotional print media designed by Ron. This particular poster showcases Leon Russell as Rock and Roll’s Living Legend while on the Hawaii tour of 2007. Using a color photo of Leon Russell as the main focus, the next element in the poster’s visual hierarchy would be the musician’s name at the top in a bold serif font and all caps. The serif font appears a few more times, but most of the poster’s text is in a clean sans serif font. An orange-brown color serves as a background and helps the poster pop by contrasting with the mostly black background of the photo.
