Square Mobile Credit Card Processing

SquareUp Mobile Credit Card Processing

Accept payments. Everywhere.

“Now when you swipe a card with Square or Card Case there is just one fee: 2.75%. What you see is what you pay. Square and Card Case let you accept credit cards quickly and easily, using what you already have in your pocket: your phone. When you want to know how much money you’ve made, a simple multiplication will do. No more scrambling with complex fees and hidden costs.”

My Android reader just arrived from Square, I have yet to dig into it but this new technology looks very promising. Square has been around for a while, but I just recently was told about it by a client. Square has to have some of the bigger online payment gateways scrambling to catch up. The concept is far from new, but for some reason it has not been disseminated on a large scale as it should and can be as mobile media and technology continues to change our lives.

The rates are comparable to PayPal,
Google Checkout, Authorize.net and others

I specifically am keen on the web-based platform to manage online account activity, aside from the mobile technology. The ability to process payments with the “card not present” and over the phone for example are also very important to me.

Square has chosen to aggressively offer their technology for free to both individuals and businesses. It is their edge, probably unparalleled within the payment processing industry. I expect to see some serious market share battles coming as we see this story evolve.

Did I mention the company was started by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey?

Are you using mobile credit card processing technology?
Have you used Square and if so, what is your experience?
